The story behind the place

Khor Al-Adaid is a large tidal embayment in south-eastern Qatar. A relatively narrow channel links it to the Gulf, while dunes, salt flats and rocky outcrops surround its branching shoreline. These neighboring landforms create a varied setting in which desert processes and marine conditions interact across a sensitive coastal ecosystem.
