The story behind the place

Emerald Pool lies within Morne Trois Pitons National Park. Dominica’s tourism account describes clear water reflecting the surrounding foliage, which helps explain the pool’s green name. A single narrow cascade enters beside an overhanging rock face, with boulders around the water. Look for the contrast between the bright falling stream and the darker recess behind it. This shaded forest setting is distinct from the steaming volcanic basin of Boiling Lake elsewhere on the island.
