Royal Pavilion — Central Frontage
Onion-shaped domes and delicate arches make a seaside palace hard to miss.

The story behind the place
The Royal Pavilion was created as a seaside palace for the future George IV in Brighton. John Nash began its dramatic transformation in 1815, adding the distinctive domes and slender turrets. The exterior draws on Indian architectural forms. Look for the large central onion dome above the latticed arches, flanked by smaller domed bays. The illustration shows a bounded central frontage.
