Muleeaage
White fretwork traces red roof gables above a shaded blue-green veranda.

The story behind the place
Muleeaage is a historic presidential residence in Malé. In marking its centenary, the Presidency described a building that has served several public roles, including presidential offices and other institutions. Its low red roofs, decorative white timberwork and shaded veranda create a distinctive frontage. Look for the small pointed gables above the entrance and the contrast between the pale walls and darker shutters. The house adds another chapter to the capital’s history beyond its coral-stone mosques.
