Île Alcatraz Seabird Colony
A small rocky island provides nesting space for a large seabird colony.

The story behind the place
Île Alcatraz and nearby Île de Naufrage form a protected coastal wetland site. The rocky Alcatraz island is sparsely vegetated and supports nesting brown boobies, while the low sandbank of Naufrage offers roosting space for terns. Their different surfaces provide complementary habitats within a small section of Guinea's marine environment.
