The story behind the place

Gutenberg Castle stands on a hill about seventy metres above Balzers. The site was inhabited in the Neolithic period, and the castle itself dates to the twelfth century. After a period of decay, it was rebuilt between 1905 and 1912, so its appearance also tells a story about later restoration.
