The story behind the place

Uluwatu Temple stands on the southwestern coast of Bali’s Bukit Peninsula. Its cliff-edge position is central to the landmark: low temple structures meet a steep limestone coast and a path that follows the headland. The miniature keeps the shrine small relative to the cliff, preserving the relationship between architecture and landscape. It shows a public exterior view of a place that continues to have religious significance, with no invented ceremony or interior scene.
