The story behind the place

Prasat Prang rises within the Prasat Thom complex at Koh Ker. Its stacked terraces and steep central staircase give it a striking pyramid form. Koh Ker was the Khmer Empire’s sole capital from 928 to 944 under Jayavarman IV. This is one monument within that much larger sacred city, whose builders worked with enormous stone blocks.
