The story behind the place

Pointed arches, open galleries and clock faces stack into a slender landmark in the heart of Iquique. The nineteenth-century tower is built largely from timber, despite the impression of a miniature stone monument. Follow its narrowing stages upwards from the little steps to the flagpole. It remains one of the most familiar sights of Plaza Prat.
