cultural places
At Mangyol in Makiy village, stone money is arranged along intersecting community grounds. Yapese people quarried such disks in Palau and transported them across the sea through networks of exchange and alliance. A piece's history contributes to its value, making these stones records of relationships as well as traditional currency.
